Working together

I’ve had a lot of opportunities to talk with friends and peers in the past few months about how their businesses are doing. The responses are varied with some doing well and others holding on for better times. Probably the most depressing thing that I hear is when the owner is worried about the success of the business and isn’t doing anything about it except hoping that the economy turns around. In many cases it’s a seasoned business person in that position. These business owners have in many cases have decided to “go it alone” without seeking the counsel of peers and knowledgeable professionals. The reasons for not seeking help are numerous and often have roots in personal shame. There is a better way. In the next couple of weeks I’m going to blog about the peer group model that we use at WingSwept and the positive impact that it’s had on our business. We have a great group of companies that are able to help us with challenging issues and provide a wealth of ideas to allow our business to prosper in the most challenging economic climate.
